A lucid portrait of one of the most unconventional and influential composers of the 20th Century. Throughout his life, Lou Harrison (1917-2003) studied and experimented freely with western, eastern and custom-made instruments, embracing artistic playfulness over the classical rules of composition. His unbounded thinking and unbridled experimentation blossomed into the creation of a vast body of work for dance, opera, orchestra and unlikely pairings of chamber instruments. This film offers a rare glimpse into the intimate personal struggles and artistic development of a legendary composer. It is the culmination of more than two decades of research and documentation by filmmaker/music producer Eva Soltes who enjoyed a close relationship with Harrison.

After her husband leaves her, Gwen goes to live with her sister Queenie. She discovers that she has suddenly acquired a special gift that enables her to make mechanical objects work again and also healing powers. As news of this travels they find themselves pursued by the press and people and take refuge in the home of a wealthy elderly woman cured by Gwen. Gwen is disturbed by all the publicity, but Queenie relishes it and claims she has is a medium.

The Wizard of Oz legend continues with The Marvelous Land of Oz, based on the second book in the series by L. Frank Baum. This adventure features a brave young boy named Tip, the lovable Jack Pumpkinhead, the gruff wodden Sawhorse, and the evil witch Mombi, who is Tip's guardian. Tip and his amazing friends escape Mombi and head toward the Emerald City, now ruled by the Scarecrow. Joined by Dorothy, who has returned to Oz, they meet General Ginger and her all-female army who are planning to invade and take over their beloved Emerald City. Meanwhile, Glinda, the good Witch, has learned that the original King of Oz had an heir. While battling with the forces of General Ginger, Tip, Dorothy and their friends discover that the rightful ruler of Oz has been amazingly transformed.
